Anyone who applied to Annenberg who got accepted already, rejected, or are still awaiting a decision, what are ur stats? I may have a decision by tomorrow and I am trying to see where I stack up compared to other applicants for Annenberg specifically the Journalism School because its harder to get in than Communications, and I'm freaking out. I have a 3.73 cumulative GPA(I've had 1 C, 1 B, and every other grade is a B+ or better) as an incoming junior with 69 credits 9 from high school, 60 from Hofstra Universy(4-year private university in NY). I have completed all GEs that have to be taken in residence except 2. I complted my foreign lang requirement, my diversity reuirement, and my math & english requirements. Thanks for any feedback. Fight On!

what or who gave you reason to believe that you may have a decision by tommorrow? and why don't you like hofstra?

my regional rep, because I have to tell Hoftra housing if im leaving by July 1stt in order to get my housing deposit back. My rep told me to call back Thursday when I talked to her on Monday and that I would have a decision by the end of this week. I think I posted about that already on the USC Transfers thread.
I don't hate Hofstra, but do I seriously have to compare it to USC they are like the Mets this year and the KC Royals. Just worlds apart. I like the people I've met at Hofstra, but I was expecting more from the school than what I got. When I visited USC, it exceeded my expectations and felt how a college should.

I know eggzactlee how you feel.

is annenberg a liberal arts college?

No child. Annenberg is a reputable communications school within the University of Southern California.

thanks for clearing that up July4th. I ddidnt realize I forgot to mention it was part of USC.

sorry.. had no idea.

forgiven, i didnt mean to be rude. forgive me :)

for pete's sake, its july4 not july4th

sorry man, july4

its greatly appreciated.

okay wannabe,

you have a 3.73, and that's a great gpa...what I'm wondering is...
WHY THEY WOULD TURN YOU DOWN? I don't think so. It's above their "mean"!

Thanks for the vote of confidence. If it were only that simple, I'd be a lot less worried right now, but I think there is a lot that goes into the decision and I guess the fact that I am still waiting just worries the hell out of me. I thik for some majors, my GPA being above the average might be good enough, but because I'm an overachiever with an interest in journalism, I chose one of the toughest schools at USC to get into in. I'm kind of wishing I had applied as comm first choice because the standards arent as high as broadcast journalism, print journalism, or PR. Hopefully I'll get good news tomorrow and all my worrying will have been for naught. I think I saw someone from a Orange Coast College with a 3.6 who got into Annenberg for Broadcast Journalism, so maybe my chances are better than I think. Thanks.

all i know is that michigan football would destroy usc football.

wannabe,

what was your 2nd choice major?

Communications when I went to Transfer Day the person at Annenberg said that the Comm School is a lot easier to get into than the Journalism School, and to put that as a second choice, or maybe 1st if we had our heart set on USC but not neccessarily Journalism.

Umm...check out the 'current Trojans taking questions' thread (towards the end of it)...it looks like someone was accepted to CLAS in english and changed their major to Annenburg during orientation...I never knew you could change majors so quickly..
