I'm thinking of applying to the annenberg school of communications. how are the admission standards compared to the college? any information would be great, like the type of people they pull in, and the workload.

annenberg is a hard school to get into. its very repuatable. and they like it when their applicants have specific and meaniingfull experiences in the field of communications.

I'm gonna have to disagree, MrTrojanMan. Annenberg is USC's lazy blow-off major. I know because I used to be one. It's a joke, it's what people transfer into when they can't hack it in business or pre-med. The course load is a joke, and the classes themselves are jokes.

Still, it's hard to get into because they want to keep their stats high. I would say go for the college, at least if you want to take interesting classes.

reallyyy?? i knew smart people who got rejected. i thought annenebrg was suppose to be good.

Yeah, loads of smart people get rejected because they want to keep their admission statistics really competitive. So it's pretty hard to get in. But once you get in, it's a breeze. (Seriously, I'm taking a few comm classes to pad my GPA for law school aps, they are easier than high school classes!)

Of course, I am only talking about the comm school part of Annenberg, not the journalism school. Those J-school kids have crazy amounts of work. And the journalism core classes? Those are scary hard!

communications = sorority major ;)

Hold on there afterhours. Although there are quite a few members of the SC Greek system in Comm, I don't think that is a fair assessment of the comm major. There are a lot of sorority members in all the popular USC majors mainly because SC just has a lot of sorority members. I am in a sorority and am definately not a comm major; most of the girls in my house are not either.

And need I remind you that the all-sorority GPA is much higher than the all-women's and all-student GPA and has been for the past 15 years or so? Let's not go throwing out stereotypes. :-)

cloe, are you in a sorority?

Yep. I said I was in my previous post. And I'm quite proud of it. ;-)

oh ok, what house?

Sorry, MrTrojanMan, I'd rather not say on these boards. The beauty of anonymity and all. Besides, mentioning a specific house when in discussion with incoming freshman is a violation of the rush rules and could result in a big fat fine for me and my hosue. So suffice it to say, I am in one of the 9 sororities on the row, I have been since I was a freshman, and I really enjoy USC Greek Life.

Chloe.... I respect Annenberg and any USC program. I was just joking about the sorority thing ;)
