This question might have been addressed somewhere else, but I'm going to post it in a new thread anyway. Does anyone know how many finalists are selected for the Annika Rodriguez Scholars Program? How many are actually chosen at the end to become Rodriguez Scholars? Also, is this program only for Hispanics or geared toward Hispanics mostly? Thanks!

[Rodriguez Scholars Program](http://admissions.wustl.edu/scholarships/programs/Pages/Rodriguez.aspx)

How many are chosen? “Multiple Scholarships”

Only for Hispanics? No - that would not be a very “diverse” thing to do - in fact it would be downright discriminatory.

Yeah I’ve visited the site multiple times before. I was just wondering because when I googled the scholarship some sources say it’s only for Hispanics (though those are articles from earlier years , like 2005), and I’ve seen some CCers write “I applied for this given I was a Hispanic.” So that’s why I was just wondering–not that I just randomly doubted the diversity of the program. I do know Wash U is pretty good at diversity in the college admissions in general, but the Hispanic connection in this particular program kind of puzzled me (especially because nowhere did they mention it on the official web site), so that’s why I asked.

I believe the program used to be open only to Latinos, but dissent to this caused them to open the program up to all students. That’s why old sites state its Hispanic only, but the wustl site does not.

I think this student life article gives the information you’re looking for, check the date:
