Hey guys… First of all, Congrats! to those who were accepted ED, and good luck! to those who weren’t. Secondly, I’d like to know what you all think my chances are at and Penn. Here are my stats:

Thanks for your help! I’m just trying to decide places to which I should apply. I just want to know if I have any chance at Penn, or if I should just not apply.

yeah, but even with essays sometimes youve gotta get lucky. cuz like it all depends on who reads your essay too(given that you take the risk of doign something unique). back on square one.
frankly, looking back at my pg 217 essay, it could have been better in a couple of aspects, but they still let me in. so it just goes to show you that your essay doesnt have to be perfect. though, i do think a couple points on my essay were really unique.

would northeastern md,(rural, alot of cornfields) be considered a developmental area? cuz im thinking coming from here probably helped my chances a whole hell of alot. (as far as i know, i just may be the first senior of my county to go ivy...)

location is DEFINITELY important
i'm pretty sure they'd take, btwn two ppl w/ the same stats and sim. extracurrics, someone from iowa over someone from NY or Cali or NJ or.. you get my drift

i guess your regional adcom knew your area and was like hmm look an ambitious one who wants to go to our school early, let's take him/her (?) i dunno, maybe ur just outstanding? either way, congrats. are u in college? wharton? seas? joint?

thanks? i know for sure im defintiely not "special" like all those kids with patents or whatever. but um obviously sas. that makes sense. its just so funny and peculiar that like im on the eastern seaboard, a few hours from all the big cities including philly and my area is still so rurual and considereed developmental... arent you going into wharton afaforce?

i wish i were going to wharton.
but i have no shot anymore
you know before it was somewhere around 1/5
now it's 5% less, and i doubt i'm gonna make the cut ^^ but heyyy we'll see....

RD accept is like 17 ain't it? it has to balance out to low20s overall
33 early overall...
