I spoke with my counselor about fee waivers, and he managed to find brief forms to fill out on collegeboard. It's literally just one sheet of paper for each college where the counselor has to sign and put the school seal. This is the first time he's done it, so he said he's assuming that I send it in with my application. However, I'm sending all of my apps in online and obviously must pay the fee first. So my question is, does anybody know how this actually works? Should I mail in the forms now? Or pay the electronic fee first, and perhaps the school will reimburse me?

My online app had a selection to indicate I was going to request a fee waiver, and then I submitted a hard copy financial aid transcript (I was a transfer), which was basically just a printout from my school with the seal, etc. I’m not sure what system you are using to apply (Common App) so I don’t know what options exist when you get to the fee portion, but I’d imagine most application systems have something similar. If you don’t see it, call the schools specifically to see what you are supposed to mark in the application to indicate you’re applying for a waiver.
