Lol, sorry, it isn't. I got that label when people started confusing my "excited" state for my "angered" state. I just start talking really fast whenever I know about something, so everyone just started saying "Calm down, man..."

haha... i laugh at your comment. i never said u were a troll or that your post was a lie or that u had no life. u get it all mixzed up because u cant think straight, and thats because u didnt eat lunch...hehehe im just messing with you, "calm down, man"...

has this turned into a flaming war?! I do believe this forum is useful. For people like me who arent applying to IVY we want to know how our chances are to get into a decent school.

The only people who can truly tell you your chances are the adcoms. If you think you should get in, youll get all ****y if people here tell you you cant, and if you don't think youll get in, youll get all cocky if people tell you you will get in. Chances posts are USELESS.

Although if you just post stats and interests, people can give you an idea of of reaches/matches/safeties.

thats what I meant. Like which ones are matches, safeties, reaches

Well, in that case, here's a list of colleges:
Harvard
Princeton
Duke
Brown
Columbia
MIT
U Penn
Rice
Dartmouth
UCB
UT (I guess...)

that list you have is eye hurting can you reduce the filler?! or is that a lot of essential stuff which makes my resume look pathetic. Someone needs to help me in my thread :(

okay in terms of predictions, the OP should apply to HYPSM, but I expect that he'll get into Penn, Columbia, CMU, Cornell, etc.

What does OP stand for?

original post...
thats common sense, but im sure many peoplelackthat, thier brains are filled with facts
hehe... i know thats harsh, but take it lightly

Well, that cleared it up. Thanks.

An0nym0u5 ~ good point on the uselessness of this post.

and FYI everyone, ivy leagues are reaches for EVERY SINGLE PERSON IN THE WORLD, unless maybe if your dad is like the head of admissions or soemthing... (wait i wonder if that has ever happened...like someone with really bad stats getting into a school b/c their parent is the ruler of admissions at the school? hmm)

anyway... actually whatever im not going to keep repeating my tirade on ivy leagues.
but sheesh...

hilary, i agree with you, whenever i see someone saying u have a good chance, i think they are giving them false hopes. no one says anything bad about themselves, they only say they have two b's and THATS bad, but we dont know if they are snotty *******s or smart, helpful people that enjoy life on a daily basis. so it doesnt make sense... i actually laugh at them quite a bit, or i pity them when they say they wont try because some random person sitting in front of a screen says they are not on the ivy league level

by the way... if your parents just donated money to build about two new buildings, then your in, and so are your kids, and thier kids

Lol, Okay. I'll let you know if I ever get that rich.

dont let me know.... just share

Lol, i think i got the wrong impression of you earlier. Sorry bout my comments, it was a disappointing weekend.

its all good man...
im told i grow on people, but like i said, i never had a problem with ya

haha oh good i feel like i helped end the flaming contest going on in this thread.

anyone know about the parent-as-dean-of-admission question though? has this happened?

im sure, the dean of admissions would obstain from making any comments about the app... but im sure thier presence will affect all those who are judging it.. and if its not favorable, then it would be "appealed"... hehe
