Did I miss something? @AsMother did you son receive an acceptance to Berklee (as a transfer)? If so, how was he notified? When and where did he audition? Did he select early action?
My daughter auditioned in Orlando last month for popular voice. We are hopeful for a “yes” and an early Christmas present ahead of the Jan 31 notification?
Thank you so much, @compmom ! You’ve been such a wonderful source of information and inspiration through it all.
I was thinking this morning that it was a blessing in disguise when he didn’t get in the first time around. I think he definitely needed that extra physical, emotional, and musical maturation-time. It will be a much better experience for him now than it would have been then.
@coronado , he received an email this morning. From what I’ve read elsewhere here, the acceptance procedures change every year, but not everyone gets their decisions on the same day. So hang in there, and I’m thinking good thoughts for your daughter’s outcome! (The first time my son applied—a few years ago—we went to the Orlando audition as well.)
I forgot to answer your other questions. This time he auditioned in Boston in November, and yes, he applied Early Action.
Congrats @AsMother. Your son’s story is a good example of how one doesn’t have to follow a narrow path in order to pursue music. You’ve done a great job of supporting him and letting him find his way.
That’s such a sweet thing to say, @bridgenail ! Thank you! Yeah, he definitely did it His Way (he’s a big Sinatra fan, too ).
@AsMother - Yahooooooo! Congratulations on receiving good news! You must be so proud. This is a long and arduous journey so there’s probably some relief too! Whew. Agree, every step leads to the right destination. So glad for you and your son. Well done, well deserved.
Major relief, @coronado ! Thank you. And yes—I really am learning in my advanced years that, as you say, every step leads to the right destination—if you let it.
Hoping to hear awesome news from you soon as well!
Congratulations! I’m thrilled for both of you!
Thank you, @indeestudios ! I really feel it’s where he belongs (he’s in his bedroom shredding in his pajamas as we speak—I’m sure you’re familiar with the experience!).
