Just a quick note to mention that Duke does not have minors in engineering, nor does it have a "pre-med degree;" rather, you can pursue whatever major you want while simultaneously working with the Health Professions Advising Center to make sure you also satisfy the requirements and recommended coursework for applying to medical school.

As Dr. G was saying you can't minor in Engineering so I would make sure that you want to be an engineer before doing the Engineering premed route. I am an Engineering premed myself and while I still wouldn't go back and change it since I really like being an engineer, I know my life would be a lot easier as a Trinity premed. So by all means come to Pratt and be an engineer (as we are all the cool people on campus, everyone secretly wishes they were engineers) just know that with premed added you are going to have some tough times. (but seriously, Engineers are the best and if you were looking for an easy time you wouldn't be trying to be a doctor!)

I think you have a pretty good chance because your SAT score is great for a URM. But college admissions are so unpredictable these days; you never know what could happen come April!. Have you taken SAT II yet and received your AP grades for the 2007 school year? Are you Nigerian? Am am Nigerian and your last name looks familiar.
