Another "Chance Me", and a few misc. Q's...

So, I've looked at these forums for a while and promised myself I wouldn't post a "chance me" thread, but these other threads sort of worry me. I know I probably shouldn't rely on random people on the internet, but what the heck. What do you think are my chances at getting into Kenyon?

White, Male (and politically liberal, if that means anything...), and I live 50-ish minutes east of Campus. Economically, I'm far from blessed, if you get what I mean.

around 100 hours of Community Service (but do I need to go back to the people I volunteered for and get "proof" of this?)

GPA: 3.9/4.0, 5.8/6.0
Class Rank: 5/320, probably move up a spot or two next year
ACT: 30, Writing was 11

Of the six AP classes my school offers, I've taken one, plan on taking three more next year, and am taking a fifth one (that's not officially AP) through an independant study. I've met the full requirments on the Kenyon site for high school courses, and have surpassed their req. for English and Science ones.

I've refused to take a study hall or any class that doesn't affect my GPA; so I've taken a full courseload since Freshman year, all accelerated classes.

Clubs: Ohio Mock Trial, "In The Know", Leadership (Our version of Student council/ "volunteer club"), I was also somewhat involved in Freshman Choir, TI (a club against underage drinking and smoking), and am currently forming an Outdoors club, as well as joining our Literary Magazine next year. I've also held a summer job, if that does anything for me.

I've already taken one visit to Kenyon, and plan to return for an interview in a month or two. My Uncle also graduated from Kenyon, and he'll be taking me for my interview.

In terms of Reccomendations, I think I'll get 3 or 4 awesome letters. And I know I'll do well on my essays.

Is there anything I could do to improve the odds? If Kenyon isn't in my future, what about any other LAC's? Thank you very much for whoever feels like answering this, lol.

It appears that you would have a decent shot at Kenyon; however, I don’t get a sense of what you would want to do in college. It is good to be well rounded, but you sort of need to present yourself in some manner that will stick out from the pack. If nothing else, have a solid plan involving how getting a Kenyon education will help you achieve something and how you plan to take advantage of what is offered if you attend (very useful for the interview and essays).

Double Major in English and Religious Studies. I’m obsessed with Religion and have 3 years personal study on it. When it comes to English, I like writing, alot, and have 5 years of random pre-writing, very well versed in American lit, and my own short stories. So these are the types of things I should include in my interview?

It would be a good idea to talk about your passions…but I would avoid using words like “obsessed” and “random” :-P
