another CHANCE ME! (ed)

<p>white boston-suburb girl from big ol' competitive public
gpa 8.15/9(w), 3.7ish(uw), puts me in top 15% of class (no ranking, rough estimate)
sat: 800cr/780wr/690m/2270total satii's: 800lit, 780 USH, 710 spanish
ap: 5 on USH last year (my school doesn't really offer AP's for frosh/soph, and only a couple for juniors. they discourage more than 3 AP/honors classes)
this year's schedule: ap psych, ap stat, ap bio, honors philosophy/lit, history indep. study at another school, 2 choruses. my schedule over the past few years has been a mix of honors-level and regular-level, probably ranked at or <em>just</em> below "most demanding"</p>

<p>tons and tons of hours spent in various theatre/music pursuits:
-four years of (very good) school theatre and am directing my own show this spring
-an internship/subsequently hired at a professional theatre co this semester
-some acting/dance/voice classes outside of school
-in three school choruses (2 classes, 1 EC), leadership positions in 2
-NYU summer theatre intensive last summer (got college credit)</p>

<p>-have worked in various jobs since freshman year at theatres in Boston, ushering/selling merchandise, a dance retail store....etc.</p>

<p>Your stats are great and your ECs are too. Are you applying to Northwestern for theater? For music? Do you need to do an audition, or send a CD?</p>

<p>My understanding for Theatre majors is that you are accepted based on your application/scores/ecs/recs---no audition.Their program is one of the best in the nation, IMO. It is not a conservatory-you earn a BA.You may wish to have one of your recs come from your hs drama or dance or voice teacher. G'Luck!</p>

<p>Which school are you applying to?
If you're doing the drama program (i.e. not Weinberg), then I think you look like a strong ED applicant. If, by chance, you are applying to Weinberg, my only concern is that most top arts & science schools expect calculus and physics. You don't seem to be taking calculus, and I can't tell whether you took physics.
Either way, apply ED and with your transcript and scores you have a really good shot.
Good luck!</p>

<p>i am applying to school of communications with an intended major in theatre (there's no audition). i have taken physics (freshman year, my school is odd) and i did precalc last year.</p>
