so i graduated from high school and went off to rutgers university college of engineering. basically, i found out that the students there (at least most that i've met) don't really care about what they're learning about, as long as they pass. i'd like to go someplace where students are as passionate about this material as i am, and that place is deffinitely not rutgers. so, i've decided that i'm going to apply for transfer and see what happens. i plan on applying next year to transfer as a junior.

in high school i did incredibly average. i think my overall gpa was about a 3.4, and my sats were about an 1800 (i think i had 600 or so on each section).

in college, so far i have about a 3.8, all a's except for chemistry for engineers.
also, i'm doing research directly under my campus dean (columbia graduate) and the computer science chair (brown graduate). i'm a biomedical engineering major by the way.

next semester i plan on joining a few clubs to pad my application a bit, i'm sure i can find something that interests me.

so, i've been looking a lot at columbia, brown, and cornell. what do you guys think? is it even worth the application fee? are there any other schools you would recommend?

--oh and here's the kicker: i would need some pretty serious financial aid. i've been working about thirty hours a week and have been putting all of my money into an account for when i transfer, and it didn't take me long to realize that i'm hardly gonna make a dent in one semesters tuition.

thanks!
