So the colleges I'm not sure about acceptance for:
Cornell, Penn, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Wash U St. Louis.

I might be applying ED to Cornell or Penn, I cant decide (My parents want me to apply regular and hope a less competitive school gives me scholarship $$)

Other schools I'm planning to apply to at the moment:
University of Maryland College Park
University of Maryland Baltimore County
University of Chicago
Virginia Commonwealth University

A little about me: I just finished up my Junior year of high school. I'm trying to major in Biology or Biomedicine, and I hope to go to medical school.

Thanks for taking the time for reading this, and thanks in advance for helping me out!

hmmm your gpa and sat score look good enough for a few of your top schools. but honestly i dont see a “hook” in your extracurriculars… Ill chance you though:

ED Cornell-Low reach (I think you’ll get in)
RD Cornell-Reach

ED Pen-Reach (less likely but youre a strong candidate)
RD Pen-High Reach

Duke-Reach
Johns Hopkins-Low Reach (lower than cornell, I think you’re in)
Not familiar with Wash u
UMD-In w/ definite scolarship imo
U of chicago-High match/low reach
VCU-in

Chance me?:
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1168413-chance-me-ed-cornell.html

You’re ECs are a little weak, but pretty okay. They probably won’t hinder you from the top schools minus the Ivy League, Duke, and Stanford.
Also, your unweighted GPA is a little low; not that low, but a little bit so.

Cornell ED: since the acceptance rate is in the 30s, I would say a low reach; 45-50% chance, if not a bit higher.
Cornell RD: definitely a reach, probably around 30-35% chance of acceptance.

ED Penn: mid-reach; 40-45% maybe
RD Penn: significant mid to high reach; 25-30% chance

Duke - if you apply ED, you have a significantly better shot, probably around 50% even. However, RD, it is unlikely, around 30%.
JHU - hard to get into, so mid-reach; 45%
WUSTL: mid-reach, so approximately 45% chance
UMD - definitely in, with merit aid probably; 95+% chance
University of Chicago - low reach/high match; 55% chance
VCU - since it isn’t particularly known or exclusive, in. 100% chance unless yield protection.

apply penn ED, it’s a 32% acceptance rate, so you’ve got a good chance. cornell might be a bit easier, but to be honest i wouldn’t recommend applying to either of those. APPLY TO JOHNS HOPKINS! 43% acceptance rate ED, probably the best medical program in the country: you’d be set. duke isn’t too hard to get into ED either, so you’ll have a good chance there.

to be honest, you should tell your parents that you are not really scholarship material b/c of your weak ECs… you’d be better off applying ED to your top school, most likely getting in, and then going there. good luck
