10-12 Academic GPA: 4.54 Weighted, 3.63 UW
My school ranks by decile, so I'm top 10% (admittedly I think I barely made it).

I'll be taking another 5 or 6 AP Tests next May.

Everyone says this, but I go to a VERY competitive school in SoCal. Top 3 STEM school in the nation, we send about 10 people to either Harvard or Stanford every year, and we're the most consistent national champions for Science Olympiad every year. I'd be willing to bet that we have the most rigorous science department in the nation. Unfortunately, that means that my 6 5's on my AP tests are completely standard for the people at my school.

Recs
English 3 and Calc AB teacher - Should both be pretty good. Especially considering one of them has a ton of pull with colleges and literally unrejected a guy from Stanford and unrescinded a girl from Yale. Though my main concern is that I stood out to both of them because I read a lot of philosophy, and that isn't really reflected anywhere else on my application.

If you really made it all the way down here, I sincerely appreciate the time you took to read this and any feedback you guys can give me!

Pretty good chances. With the ED boost, I’d say you’re more likely than not to be admitted. I think those essays will be really killer, given the connection to business and the general impressiveness of self-teaching a language. Also, you might want to consider applying to Huntsman b/c of the whole language thing.

To be honest, I wasn’t even planning on applying two months ago because I just assumed I had no chance because of my mediocre grades. Getting into Wharton alone is already way more than enough for me. And I never had any intentions on using German for business or anything. I just learned it because I thought it sounded cool. >__<

Looking solid with the stats, but honestly at schools like Penn it’s all a crapshoot. You know you definitely won’t get rejected because of your scores, extracurriculars, awards, or grades, but if the admissions counselor simply doesn’t think you’ll be a good fit for Penn, then you’re out of luck. There’s obviously no algorithm or benchmark for whether you’ll get in, so for now I guess you’ll just have to wait till December to know whether you got in. Best of luck.

I’ve been hearing about fit a lot, but what exactly does it mean? Is it a certain personality that Penn is looking for, or interest in the school?

You look like every other applicant - have fun blending into the crowd.

^ haha, ouch.
