UCB
UCLA
UCD
UCI
Cornell
WUSTL
Swarthmore
Will also try HYPS (I know I will be rejected, but...)

By the way, I will be considered as international since our family is in the process of applying for U.S. permanent residency.

UCB/UCLA: Match
UCD/UCI: Safety

cy_sunset:

UCB/UCLA: Match (non-resident)
UCI/UCD: Safety (non-resident)

Thanks.

Anyone else?

wow, congrads on your acheivement, i must say, your score is impressive, i have been to canada for over 5 years(i am also chinese), and my highest verbal was 600 (abysmal) :(. nice SAT IIs :), best of luck

Your stats are similar to mine
I agree that UCB/LA are a match or even a safety
But HYPS will probably reject you due to the international status
IMHO

HYPS doesn't like international status?

To lollipop27:

I am afraid what you said is the brutal truth.

But at least, HYP said they extend need-blind policy to international students who need financial aid, but Stanford doesn't.

To w01f:

I found your thread!
We have really really similar stats, even our college list

I decide to apply to those "super super reaches" because it will be extremely difficult for my family to finance a UC education if I have to pay out-state tuition.

To Newbyreborn:

I am sure you also have excellent stats. A 600 in verbal is not bad at all!!!!! considering how hard that test is.

Are you a senior this year? Do you plan to get a college education in U.S.?

Which part of China are you from?

Can anyone comment on my Cornell chance (CALS)?

"HYPS doesn't like international status?"

No, cause all the schools have a quota on international students. Well at least I know for sure that MIT can only take 5% of its undergrads from the international pool (which sucks for them, but is good for me). My guess is that the other schools have similar policies as well

HYPS is what you think it is... hard. UCB will also be hard, but I think being from In-state gives you a fighting chance. WUSTL is a small reach. At Wash U. you probably have a good chance, but it is getting harder and harder. The low (in comparison to other applicants) test scores will hurt a little, but your GPA will make a big difference. Swarthmore and Cornell are right around WUSTL. Good luck. I think you have a fair chance at most of them

Thanks for the input, everyone.
