Another chance thread :)

Please? I got accepted at stanford but I think I prefer Yale.

Testings:
-2280 SAT (800m, 750r, 720w)
-34 ACT
-800 SAT2 math
-800 SAT2 world history
-taken 5 aps so far. (psych, englang, chem, world, ush --- 5s on all except chem (4))

Grades:
4.0 through out highschool. (though I may get one B this semester...senioritis)
weighted: 4.65 or so
i'm one of ten valedictorians in a public school in orange county california (800+ ppl in my grade). in other words, i have the grades

Extracurriculars... where i really shine.
I rifle shoot (olympic sport)
I'm the Jr. World Champion... on the US national team, have multiple national records, and planning on going to the olympics. i've done some extensive traveling for it too

other than that my ec's are pretty boring. let's say 150 hrs of volunteer work for relay for life and my library. as well as 70 hrs of work for a firm over the summer

i'm a white jewish girl who lives in the suburbs so i don't bring in the diversity factor but yeah.

i'll chance you guys back! Thanks

Your academic profile is great and you have extreme achievement in an extracurricular of your choice. Looks good :)

You definitely have a better shot than most. Congrats on all your achievements! Are you aiming for recruitment at Yale? I know, it’s a bit obvious of a question, but even if you weren’t and were merely submitting a simple athletic supplement, your academics and scores are pretty stellar and compliment the rest of your stats very well. Good luck!

You got into Stanford EA, so you know that you are in the ballpark. No-one here will be able to tell you any more than that.

Everyone will say “You look good, better shot than most blah blah blah”

Stop looking for an ego boost and realise that chancing at this level is useless. Then go outside and celebrate your Stanford admission.

Edit: Just read your whole post:

Then go and shoot something, you probably won’t miss :)

You have a good chance but with the Ivies, nothing is guaranteed. Apply and see if you get accepted or not. Best of Luck. :)

I don’t see the point in chancing after you got into Stanford. At this point your guess is as good as ours…

You have a pretty good chance I think!!!

You’re a well-qualified applicant, and that’s all any of us can tell you. I’m not really sure what you’re looking for in making a chance thread this late in the process, and after having gotten into Stanford, other than an ego boost.

In defense of Clowie: she’s probably freaking out just as much as any of the rest of us who aren’t into Stanford EA. People like her are hard to satisfy. Anyway, good luck Clowie!!! Don’t be disapointed if you don’t get in, (my guess is 80% that you will though) and I’ll be sure to watch the Olympic Shooting in 2012. :)

Chance me back?

ACT: 35
SAT2: Math 2: 780 World:720
SAT: Didn’t submit
APs: 10, 8 with 5s, 2 with 4s, no science
GPA: 4.8 weighted, 3.8ish unweighted, I slacked my sophomore year, 9 out of 900
Essays/Recs
My common app was pretty awesome, my supplemental was…er…hopefully they don’t actually read those
Recs seem solid
ECs
Probably average: president of a couple clubs, tutoring, debate, acting, lots of work experience
Other: Hispanic, not applying for financial aid, family illness

Thanks invisibleorange.

I just got waitlisted by UChicago and Claremont Mckenna (both were somewhat of safeties. especially mckenna. maybe tufts syndrome?)
Thanks for understanding :)

The problem is your ec’s. everything is really great but you’re not specific enough for me to know how good they are. I’m not going to lie though, your urm status will really help you and depending on what your family illness is, that could help you too. I think you’re a competitive candidate :)

I’m into cmc and uchi (merit money from both), just got waitlisted at stanford. well, we will know either way in half an hour! if I can get the internet on my phone to let me view the page anyway…
