Chances in Huntsman/Wharton or other competitive schools

SAT 1: 800M/800V/720 W

SAT II: 800 Physics, 800 Math II, 800 US

APs: BC Calculus, European History, Chemistry, Physics C, US history, World History - all 5.

Next year: AP French, Micro and Macro, Government, Language and other school required courses.

National Competitions: Winner of two national essay competition and finalist in other essay competitions. National Leadership award finalist in Volunteer work

Would you consider yourself a tool?

If so, you have a really good chance.

Forget to mention

based on Fafsa/Profile she qualifies on need based help and need it

What do you mean:

"Would you consider yourself a tool?". I do not get it as English is second language which we learned by immigrating to USA.

Oh, is this for your child? I feel kind of bad now....that's sweet. Kind of.

She definitely is a strong candidate...but how strong depends entirely on extracurriculars. Could you post more of what she's done?

I do not want to post too much here as I am afraid to reveal her identity. But she has excellent awards in school or regional level based for her extracurricular activities; she holds many posistons in clubs realted to her activities.

Well, I mean, here's the thing:

a) We are not qualified to answer this question. We can tell you if we feel she's the kind of person historically accepted, but that's it.
b) Huntsman is a selective program, and they are looking for a kind of person...we have no idea to tell if she's that kind of person from your post. For all we know she's just another 2320 to Penn....nothing more.
c) What are you going to do if you tell her extracurrs? Are we going to cross reference the fact that she won the mayor's award to go kill her? I'm confused on that one.

Well, RSI is like the hardest summer math/science program to get into it (it's at MIT for those of you who don't know). So that's really impressive. Grades of course can't be better, as well as test scores. EC wise, solid. Very involved in Debate, RSI, volunteer work (i assume, don't really know the details etc). And they are impressive. So she is definitely in the running for Wharton. Huntsman, of course, is the language program. I am assuming you need to be very involved with language type things to be accepted into the program, although I don't really know. So I'm not sure about Huntsman. But for Wharton, you're very competitive. Again, as JCOveney said, there will be many impressive candidates applying. As silly as it seems ( due to all your daughter's hard work and very impressive accomplishments) she stills needs to continue her hard work and continue to make herself standout, whether it's through the essay, getting in contact with her regional admissions representative, etc. It's Ivy admissions, the hardest thing in the world to understand! Good luck!
