Taz be prepared to have medical paperwork to show you are no longer allergic. Dodmerb typically DQ's people who have a history of allergies, you will just need to get a waiver if they do...DON'T FRET...NOT A BIGGIE, just more paperwork!

For all new applicants...Dodmerb will do a thorough physical, head to toe and everywhere in between...plus review your medical history. If you have an issue, there is a great guy on United States of America Service Academy Forums - Powered by vBulletin with the moniker MullenLe, he is directly involved with Dodmerb and can assist you in any and all questions. It is a seperate section under Dodmerb...just pose your question and he can assist you.

Thanks for the help bulletandpima, I know that this is going to be a long process. I would like to thank you for your help thus far.

Allergy Immunotherapy Treatment (AIT, also know as "allegy shots") is not a DQ unless it is current or within the previous year.

You will most likely have to complete the Allergies Questionnaire.

Taz,

I agree with the other people who have posted. Work on your academics, high scores always look nice. However, that it not all admissions is looking for.

From my experience what they care about is the whole package. Your extracurricular looks good but you can always do more. More leadership and community service would be helpful. But remember this: it is not quantity admissions cares about, it is quality. Keep going in JROTC advance as much as you can there, it looks good to stick with something.

Also, contact your admissions rep and stay in touch. Tell them as soon as anything in your package changes. This will get your name stuck in their mind and will tell them you really want to go. Both very important. They need to know your name and packet so well they memorize it. All in all, the most important thing they are looking for it heart, someone who will graduate no matter the cost; this will show them you have it.

Good luck and i hope to invite you into the Cadet Wing.

I've taken allergy pills from like age 8 till 16. Will I be DQ'd?

It was just seasonal stuff. Occasionally I'd get a runny/itchy nose, but nothing bad.

Unlikely. However i am not qualified to answer medical questions. You can go to serviceacademyforums.com where there is a DoDMRB representetive answering questions about medical DQ's and the like. That would be a good place to get accurate information.
