Another Chance thread

I visited Binghamton and i fell in love with the University. Right now Binghamton is my first choice so i'm wondering what you guys think by chances are.

UW- 90.5 W-97.5
SATS:
1270/1600, 1870/2400

SAT II:
9th grade Bio Molecular 650
10th grade World History 670

AP:
U.S and World History: both were 4's

Since i have been in High School i have taken every honor's class and AP class that i was allowed to take at my grade level.

My current senior schedule is:
AP Physics(c)
AP Literature
AP Calc
AP Psychology
Economics(required, but i love it)
Food and Fitness(it's pretty fun) elective
Government(also required)
and woodshop 2(I love building) elective

I'm in a decent amount of school clubs.
Keyclub(most of my Community Service)11, 12
Model UN 11, 12
Math l33ts 11, 12
Peer Leaders 12
National Honor Society 11, 12

Cross country 10,11,12
track 11, (i'll prob do it again come spring but didn't put it on my transcript)

Did every intramural sport since i stepped into this high school
(badminton, 4v4 Volleyball, Hockey, and the new European Handball)

Since i was young i have been on a summer swim team wished i could have did it as a sport but our school doesn't have a pool or team and the closest indoor pool in around 25-30 mins away on a good day. I was guy's captian of that team and coach for the last two years.

I'm a Red cross Certified lifeguard and i attended to work in the summer but they never received my renewed CPR papers and took me off list:(

I have worked off the books at a friend's deli since late April

That's about it. The only thing I'm concerned about is my average. One of my Spanish classes brought me down, but that's not here nor there. If you want to know however, She was pregnant and was absent every other day. When she left on materiality leave she had only 3 grades for the class; two quizzes(90's) and a power point Child like project which she gave me an extremely poor grade on. I asked to see what i did wrong but she never brought it up with me. This is completly off tangent, but i felt like writing. I didn't fight it though and i didn't put it on my application despite what others said

That was a a good aside, but back to the MAIN QUESTION...What are my chances?

I'd say you have a good shot...and don't worry about the Spanish thing. Your UW and W avg are both good, SAT is decent and your electives and what not are very good. What school within Binghamton are you applying to??

I'm new to the college scene and i don't really know how that works. I did everything on the common app and I just put Binghamton. Would you mind explaining to me how the different schools work?

You don't need to pick the school individually... It's based on your major. What are you planning on majoring in?

I'd say you stand a very good chance. But admissions is going to be a crap shoot this year... did you apply EA?

And PShap is right, they'll put you into the school that has your appropriate major more or less. Though business gets weird since there's SOM, and I believe you can do a similar major in Harpur too...

Here's the run down though.

There's a decker school of nursing, a school of management (SOM), the watson school of engineering, the harpur college of arts & sciences, the college of community and public affairs and the education graduate program...

I'm leading towards a science field so i was in a plight between putting Chem and undecided. I ended up putting chemistry on my app because i feel that i will be majoring in either that or a field close to it.

Was it a bad move to put Chem for Binghamton.

oh i didn't do EA, i took SATS Nov 1 so i got my scores back just after the deadline.

Well good luck, maybe I'll see you in the fall if we both get accepted and go

hey man I am prob gonna visit this break but can u tell me how u scheduled a visit and like wat they specifically did that made u like the campus? Btw were r u from?

I scheduled a visit online. This is the link you need: Register for a Campus Tour
I liked the campus because it seems well laid out and the dorms as well as the food seemed nice. I'm from Schenectady, NY

^you just register on the site and show up. They give you a little paperwork to fill out and then you follow a tour guide. I just got a sense of belonging when i went there. Everything looks good. Food and Dorms are both very good. Only problem was parking. A bunch of people on the tour with us got stuck in a parking lot because of an automated toll both and it took them a while to get out.

I'm from levittown, Ny btw
