Another Chance Thread?

I would probably apply both to brown and plme (which i know ill get rejected from)…thanks for going thru the trouble… Alright, here it goes…

State: NJ
Race: White on the outside, black on the inside lol
SAT: 2310
SAT2: 770 Math II, 730 History, 710 chem
GPA: around 97
Rank: Maybe 15/370, top 5%, sorta competitive
AP: 4 junior year, 2 5’s, a four and a 3
Senior year: 5 aps

Extra Curricular:
4 years jazz band, 2 years section leader → musics my passion
science club, math team, science league, 2 years XC, 2 years Baseball, 3 years Marching band, summer swimming for over 10 years, NHS, Music Honors Society, music award from school

Other leadership camps, nothing really stands out…
I kinda love brown more than life…and im kinda of nervous being from new jersey and all. Tell it to me straight doc

Oh, and Ive been on debate team for two years and have done some community service with youth group and on my own…and I plan on majoring in Premed/philosophy with a minor in music maybe…oh and im a male, i dont know if that makes a difference or not

bump!!!

You have a good a shot as anyone.
Your grades are definitely a huge boost. A 2310 is pretty ridiculously good if you ask me. ECs seem pretty strong. Apply ED man.

bump!!!

Lame chance thread. I’m only commenting because I have class @ 9 and really don’t wanna go to bed. You’re boring, according to what I’ve seen. But I don’t know you. You could or not. Whatever. Your grades aren’t a huge boost: Brown rejects 65% of valedictorians who apply. So as you’re not a valedictorian, and you’re not interesting to me, I can’t say your chances are over 30%. Assume 10%, have backup plans, and you’ll be fine.

^I love how people who already got into Brown talk to applicants. The truth is, OP, you’re grades are where they should be, but you don’t have the PLME type ECs. Most people who get into PLME have your grades(lots have better) ANNND thousands of EC hours at hospitals/doing research etc.

Also, I really think you should take the BIO-M SATII

Thanks all for replying, but chsowlflax17, you seem to talk like you know more about me than I do. I desperately hope your arrogance isn’t a symptom of being lucky enough to get accepted into an ivy, and doesn’t define the typical Brown student. Anyway, how are my chances for normal acceptance?

Brown, maybe, but for PLME you don’t seem to have any medical ECs.
