Another chance

ACT: 30 (highest out of the two times I took it)
SAT II Biology M: 600 (compared to the regular Biology class I, which I did very well in that class, this was a good score)
AP Exams: AP US History - 4, AP Environmental Science, Music Theory, English Lit and Comp and Spanish Language have yet to be taken
Intended Major: Dual Major in Piano Performance and Biochemistry
GPA: 3.5 (unweighted)
Advanced Courses taken: English (10-12), History (9-11; 12th grade history becomes an elective so there aren't any "advanced" classes), Spanish (11-12)
Attended the High Mountain Institute for a semester in my junior year
Have a passion for music, piano is my primary instrument and I have been playing for 6 years. I also play viola, violin and clarinet and I compose.
Done a good amount of community service.

NYSSMA (all high scores) and LIMTA (all high scores plus 3rd place in the Virtuoso Competition)

Attended a couple of summer music festivals (camp w.e. you want to call it) and played in orchestras, wind ensembles, concert band, choir, chamber ensembles duets and various other things. Studied and currently studying with some very talented and great teachers.</p>

<p>That's about it, just wanted to give most of the important stuff. Just want to see what y'all since I see so many other people doing this and I am curious to know. Thanks in advance!</p>

<p>As many people say, these chance threads should be taken with a grain of salt. I’ve found that the “common data sets” that the schools publish are the best resources available on admission. That being said, Vassar would seem to be a “reach” for you. Your 30 ACT is in the ballpark, but your grades and other scores are on the low side. You might check out good alternatives with lower selectivity like Lafayette and Richmond – both very nice schools.</p>
