"yes it is pathetic that BC gives AA to the most overrepresented group at just about every school except BC, Asians"
I'm sorry, what the heck does that mean? By what data or public statement from BC did you base this declaration on? Are you implying that Asian doesn't belong at BC ckmets13, and that Asian only got in because of AA and we are taking deserving spots from other AHANA students? Take a look at the real data ckmets13:

FRESHMAN CLASS 1996
AHANA STUDENT POPULATIONS
Black or African American: 5%
Asian American: 9%
Hispanic: 5%
Native American: < 1 %

FRESHMAN CLASS 2005
AHANA STUDENT POPULATIONS
Black or African American: 7%
Asian American: 10%
Hispanic: 8%
Native American: < 1%

Gosh, look at that, over a nine years period, Asian student population increased by over ONE WHOLE PERCENT! We need to have a crackdown immediately, there are too many of those Asians here. Asian is the largest AHANA group at BC by a minute percentage; so AA for Asians? I dont think so. I think ck here needs to check on real data once in a while instead of wild rumors.

BC is known as an "SAT whore"
Im sorry, WHAT? My best friend in high school stayed back a year in high school (5 Fs!) had an SAT score of 1150 out of 1600 and was admitted to BC. A fluke? Her parents donated $50 millions perhaps? No, its because there are more to her than just her SAT scores and her GPA. The girl got straight As for her junior and senior years taking really hard classes, survived some crazy hardships. Each individual applicant brings something unique to the table, not everybody fits into a cookie cutter, because there isnt one. I wont deny the fact that BCs SAT score has rose tremendously over the past 20 years, but correlation doesnt mean causation. SAT whore? Hmm
perhaps, and just maybe, more students with better record decided to matriculate here because its getting better than before. But that is just my crazy theory. Another person who is in the same class as us had higher SAT score than both of us, BC was her top choice, and could easily afford to pay the full tuition, but was turned down. That person is now miserable at NYU and is in the process at transferring to BC. So give BC some credit for picking out students with low SAT score but have other dimensions to offer. Not everything at BC admissions is so bleak as my disillusioned-rumor-monger fellow Eagle likes to paint it to be.

"I think it was Reddune...
He got in with a score around 1200."
My god, someone actually remembers my SAT1 score! That was two years ago. My FIRST SAT1 score was a 1260, and I did retake it. 1260 (640 M, 620 V) was the score I had when I submitted my application, but I would be foolish to stick with that score. I took five SAT 2 subject tests and score 720 or greater on most of them (except for writing) so it helped some what. Plus, I took the SAT 2 Math 2 and scored a 720 so it excused my below average first SAT1 math score. It's not an advantageous thing to be an Asian male and has a low SAT score (is that a racist statement? Because God knows we have over-the-top expectation to meet.)

Now back to the OPs question. I know one student who was the Valedictorian of her class but scored a 1230 on the SAT. Some of us arent great test takers. A low test score now doesnt spell the end for you, because it certainly didnt spell it for me. Retake the SAT1 again, improve it to the best of your ability, take a few SAT2 tests that fit your interest or specialty (history geek, Latin nerd) to show the depth of your academic ability, and that one single test score doesnt represent you overall.
