Another Chances Question

SAT score (first time): 1790; retook this month, new scores come back in about 2 weeks.
GPA: 3.65 (approx.)
Class rank: Unweighted, 63; weighted, 61 of about 360 students
Taking 2 AP classes (English and U. S. History) senior year.
4 math credits (geometry, Algebra II, Pre-Cal, and Calculus) even though I HATE math.
About 16 hours of community service for junior year, ongoing community service now (probably just under 20 hours gained this year so far).
Part-time job working with a disabled adult.

I’m not sure what I want to major in but I have an interest in biology (more specifically, genetics), international affairs, peace/justice studies, and the arts in general. I’ve been a strong writer for much of my life, so maybe something in journalism too.

Anyone have an accurate guess as to what my chances of getting in are? I’m applying for early decision this year… will that help my chances at all?

It’s going to be challenging for you. Your SAT is well below-the-line and your class rank is OK but not spectacular. ED will certainly help. Make sure you have an interview and come prepared and make it a good one.

Good luck!

Thank you very much for the reply and the encouragement. :-)
