Does any1 think i have a resonable chance in RD- i mean know i have a disdvantage being Asian indian and…lotsa other factors…
Any thoughts would be nice…:)

wow...killer ecs.

are you FROM india currently? and is english your native language? if not, that may make up for your semi-average sats.

The International applicant pool is incredibly competitive, even more competitive than the RD pool for non-URMs, and you are of Asian heritage which is the most competitive applicant pool since it is an ORM, so your application must shine. Your SAT I scores are somewhat low...though they are mid-range for the overall applicant pool, they are low for the International applicant ORM pool. It is unclear if your excellent ECs will overcome these SATs. If you have not already done so, I would suggest your prep like crazy and take them again in January. I also recommend rigorous preparation for the SAT IIs. Ideally, you would like all of them to be >750. Make sure you have a solid list of colleges that includes matches and safeties you love and would be willing to attend and good luck.

thanks quilt and ames...i dont think ill be able to take SATs again in jan since i have my school A level examinations then.but do u think i woudl be able make it up by having better SAT scores? would that be enuff?
thanks for ur comments again!

and ames- yes im in india currently-born and brought up here and yes,as long as i can remember i have spoken english...:P so yes in a way it is.

i think you probably need to take them again if you are wanting a better chance. the ecs are really cool, but it is, after all, an academic institution.

just to be safe....and for better scores.

hmmmm...lemme see..but my CR and M add up to around 1360...does that like make in to the cutoff ? or does one need a min 1400...

apply. dont worry about your SAT. a 1360 is still very good, despite what the critics say.

your ECs are far far far more important.

u r frm calcutta icy ... right ...so which school

I agree, the scores are a little on the low side, but not low enough to put you out of the running. And your ec's certainly sound impressive. You have as good a shot as anyone not named bush

thanks lemon feels kinda better :)
and yes im from calcutta wat abt u smartmind?

me frm cal tooooo....... pass me ur yahoo id or msn id ..

I'm pretty sure that a low verbal score is perfectly forgivable for someone who speaks Hindi as a first language (am I correct?)

nope ........ummmm i speak english as first lang but dont know why got so low scoress
