Another chances thread -- worth applying???

Personally, I don't see myself as a talented student, but my counselor said that it's worth applying. Do you see any chances of getting accepted??

HS GPA: 3.9
SAT I: 2250
800 - math, 700 - verbal, 750 - writing
SAT II: 750 - Math IC, 720 - Math IIC, 760 - World History.
(I plan on take literature in Nov)

Courses: rigorous... honors and APs.
(but I'm not sending my AP scores. It's optional, and they're not that fantastic)

Teacher Recs: I believe they're good.

Class Rank: by GPA, first or second. But my school doesn't rank.

Extra Curriculars:

Designed/Directed a wall mural project in our school

what do you want people to tell you? you already know the answer

I'm asking for an advice whether it's worth applying or not. if I was sure then I wouldn't have posted this thread at all. And didn't I say that my AP scores are low?

On paper it seems like your a sure bet... but Cornell weighs heavily on fit and essays.. so i would say write a good essay and you have a good shot

"Personally, I don't see myself as a talented student"

At least have some confidence. Your stats are really good, but that one thing you said kind of disturbs me.

With those stats, I'd say you have an extra app worth writing, but your statement regarding your "lack of talent" reflects your low confidence and self esteem, which may be illustrated in your essay and interview, thus lowering your chances.

are you some artsy smart asian girl who has no confidence in yourself??? with those stats you WILL get in to cornell.... if the admissions board sees that cornell FITS you that is.

ahaha, wow...those stats are fine.

Like niddumas said, you should know that you have a chance at Cornell, but like other people said, your lack of self-confidence and self-awareness does not bode well for future success. Obviously Cornell is an extremely rigorous school, and if you have no confidence or motivation you won't succeed.

Haha I know exactly what you mean, skyscraper! I see that all the time at my school.
