I’m an in-state white male, and I was wondering what campuses it would be worth me applying to.

(UC) GPA: 3.64
My gpa is kind of low because UC only weights 8 semesters, but I’ve been taking a full honors/AP/IB schedule since freshman year.
Full IB Diploma

Class Rank: 31/389
ACT Comp: 34

SAT I
Math 710
Verbal 700
Writing 710
Total 2120

SAT II’s:
Math IIC: 730
US History: 790
Physics: 740

AP’s:
English Lang 5
Biology 5
European History 5
US History 5

Extracurriculars:
Marching Band- All four years (student leader, 1st trumpet and soloist)
Jazz band- 3 years (lead trumput)
Pep band- 3 years (1st trumpet)
evening German classes at a community college- 1 semester
half hour music lessons once a week- 4 years
200+ hours of community service

I’m hoping that even though my gpa isn’t that high my test scores will help. What campuses would I have a shot at?

hi my fellow IB diploma candidate!
I'd say you have an excellent chance at UCSd, Irvine, and Davis ( matches). Sb, Sc,R, and M are probablly safe matches or safeties for you. UCla and UCb may be a slight reach, but still have a good chance because of your SAT scores. So apply anyway

what? I'd say you have really good chance at all uc's including the top ones. your gpa isn't bad, i know someone with 3.5 who got into ucla and i doubt her test scores were better than yours. you have excellent sat and act scores and yeah.. i think it's safe for ucsd.

Another question: I have a twin sister who has a disability. Would the admissions people at UC consider that a "life challenge" for me? It would probably at least be worth mentioning that in my personal statement, right?

yup! tell them how u have to spend time taking care of her so u dun have as much time to spend on studying as others
