Another Comparison! Fordham University LC vs. Loyola Marymount University

Fordham University Lincoln Center and LMU are both jesuit schools and seem to have a similar core, but their locations and campuses are totally different.

I havn't seen these two schools compared on any other post so I just wanted to know which school people think is better because they are two of my options.

Your insight would be helpful:)

NYC or LA
it's a difficult choice!

I know this is a year old, but did you end up having to chose between these two schools? As of now, they’re my top choices and I’m having a hard time deciding which one I like better, do you think you could give me some pros/cons of each school?

Fordham Lincoln Center is very small…and they are building a new 250 million dollar complex to be shared with the Law School and some of the graduate programs. Its like a small version of NYU, except uptown at Lincoln Center/West Side. Its very famous for its theatre program (Denzel Washington Jr.)

Look also at Fordham’s main campus in the Bronx: Rose Hill. Gothic architecture on 85 green leafy acres, sports complex, football, basketball, soccer, baseball, swimming, dorm variety, gated community, next to the Botanical Gardens and Bronx Zoo, and very close to Little Italy.

I don’t know much about LMU in Los Angeles, except that its a good school. Hard to compare New York and Los Angeles. It also depends on where you are from.

Fordham is a very prestigious school and considered number 4 behind Notre Dame, Georgetown, BC and Holy Cross among Catholic Schools. It is currently ranked number 53 in USNWR and on the rise, likely to break the top 50 soon.

What is your intended major and intended career path? Internships are fabulous in New York (from either campus.)

I’m from Connecticut, and I have a lot of family from around New York, so I’ve spent a lot of time there, and love it. I would definitely feel comfortable living there. I’ve never been to LA, though.

I’m planning to study communications/media studies, concentrating on film. LMU’s film school is one of the main reasons I love the school so much, but I also understand the advantages that Fordham has being in New York.
