If I apply to Cornell ED, could I apply to EA at other schools (MIT) at the same time?
I know officially you're not supposed to, but if you do and just withdraw the EA if you get accepted ED is that okay? I definitely do not want to jeopardize my chances at either school but also want to do both if I can.

Cornell: “Remember that an early decision application is a commitment. You can apply under early decision to only one college or university. If you’re accepted at Cornell, you must withdraw any applications sent to other schools and send your acceptance deposit by the deadline in early January.”

MIT: “Our early program is non-binding; if you are admitted under Early Action, you may accept or decline the offer, and in either case you are not required to reply until May 3. We do not require a deposit to hold your place. We are committed to taking no more than 30% of our total admitted freshman class under Early Action.”

This means you can do what you want and neither school will care. EA at MIT doesn’t help your chances too much since they don’t admit more than 30% of their class through EA.

Yes, you can apply ED to one school and simultaneously EA to many schools. Only when accepted ED must you withdraw the other apps.
