I know that the dorms are mostly randomized, but I don't want to give a dorm preference without at least knowing which one I'd like to go into.
How is Manzanita Village? Are there enough freshman that it's still easy to meet new people when you get there?
I see that it's right next to Isla Vista. Does it have a noise problem then?
What are the best dorms for the best balance of study and party?

Best dorms for that are Anacapa, Santa Cruz, Santa Rosa

what are my chances at getting Manzanita if i put as my first choice.

Santa Rosa is my second choice.

Well only 250 spots for freshmen there but it isn’t as popular of a dorm (or so I’ve noticed) so I think you’d have a solid chance of getting a room there.

From personal experience, Manzanita sucks. College is what you make it crap has never met this dorm… Its very beautiful, gorgeous. Right by the beach, a dining common, swimming pool, IV, etc but my goodness its dead. Village comprised of 17 houses and each house approximately 50 and you pretty much only have access to your house unless you want to keep calling your friends to let you in everytime you visit. I agree, the three shorties would probably be the best and FT if you don’t mind the distance. Study at the library, forget that quiet and good study time in MV bs

^110% agree. It felt like a ghost town when I lived there.
