Another engineering chance?

I'd appreciate any opinions of my chances of getting into TAMU engineering with the following stats:

OOS from Pennsylvania
3.3 GPA UW (out of 4.0)
SAT M-680 CR-660
1340/1600
At the end of my junior year I have 1 AP & 3 Honors
Scheduled next year for 3 APs & 3 Honors
Top 15% of class
Moderate ECs
Great recommendations
URM

Thanks!

It is possible but i would say you will get admitted to the school but not into engineering

Don’t quote me on it but I THINK you might get auto-admitted for having a 1300+ Composite SAT score and top 25% in rank.

So if you’re in the auto-admit category, your chances would be 100%.

Yeah, you’re an auto-admit. Just submit your app as early as possible, and you’ll probably get into Engineering.

That’s great! I didn’t know about the auto-admit program.
Thanks!

He is oos i thought you had to be in state for auto

Nevermind he should be auto

Does auto admit mean he is also “automatically” admitted to the engineering program?

If there are spots open in the engineering major he selects, and he has at least a 550 on the math portion of the SAT, then he will get into the engineering major as part of his automatic admission provided he gets his application in early enough. A&M has a policy that a student is admitted into the university as a whole and not based on the major requested. Students that are admitted up to January in the rolling admissions process (either auto-admit or review) usually get their top choice of major. After that, major slots start filling up for the most popular majors and second choice and general studies major choices start occurring.

By the way, are you the same aglages on the SAF board?

^^
Thanks for the info gxagal7. I sent you a PM.
