Another "Finalize my List" thread

After researching, talking to my parents, and visiting schools, I think I have my final list. I want to make sure that I have a good mix of schools, so please throw in any suggestions you may have, or if you have any general comments.

I applied mostly to engineering schools last year, but I changed my mind about wanting to major in the sciences, so this is my second time going through the process. It is worth mentioning that I was rejected from Williams last year, which is the only school I plan on actually reapplying to this time around. I think I fixed the parts of my application that hurt me last year.

Thank you so much in advance!

MY LIST:
Amherst
Bard
Bennington
Bowdoin
Connecticut
Dartmouth
Middlebury - EARLY DECISION II if rejected or deferred from Vassar
Skidmore
Vassar - EARLY DECISION I
Wesleyan
Williams

A solid list as long as you can afford the schools (which you say you can). If you are looking for a lot of merit aid, maybe add in Muhlenberg…

@happy1 Muhlenberg is a bit farther than I’d like to go - it’s about 6 hours away from my home. Vassar is even pushing it at 4 hours… I’m a first generation college student and an only child, so I still want to be pretty close my parents, and vice versa. Thanks for the suggestion and your input, though!

I can appreciate that. Best of luck.

Bump, just hoping for a couple more people’s input :)

Try to find one more safety - what about Sarah Lawrence (//Bennington) or Clark. Throw in an application to Kenyon and Hamilton, their programs are superb and although they’re farther away than you’d like, you may be able to handle the distance a year from now. It’s really too bad if you didn’t at least consider them.

I’m guessing you don’t like Women’s Colleges, though that’s a shame, Wellesley is terrific.

@enigmaticescape‌ I was considering Wellesley for a while, but I want a school that has a huge and strong theatre community, and from what I’ve read, it seems that Wellesley doesn’t really. I could be wrong though…

I like the list.
