Another home decorating question

I like your new option as well.

I would do option 1. Chair in the print, sofa in the tweed, pillows for sofa in the teal. Brown chair, solid sofa, tweed chair is too blah for me. The bolder print in 2 takes a certain taste to like, but that may be the vibe you are looking for. My taste is warm and cozy with traditional pieces.

Hang the fabric pieces on a dining chair where they will be in your room so you can see the furniture spacing and how the light hits and reflects at different times of the day.

I like this. I’d throw in one pillow in the same print as the chair to put on the sofa in addition to the teal pillows. Not super matchy-matchy but an option to tie everything together (if a custom pillow is not that expensive). Otherwise, I would just go with teal pillows only.

I agree that if you want a custom pillow in the same fabric as the chair only do one. Otherwise it gets too matchy-matchy (and a bit dated).

This has been so helpful! Thanks!

I’ll let you know what the end result is. I like option 1 colors the best, they are more us

Back to my original statement.
I like the print of option 1. Wondering how it would look with the tweed of option 2.
I think the that tweed’s tone complements the brown of the leaves in the print better than the coloring of the option 1 tweed.

Thanks, I tried that combo las tonight but forgot to photograph it

Late afternoon and cloudy but I do like the combo.

:+1::+1: I think the colors look great together.

Chair and sofa in plain colors, not prints. Use prints for accent pillows.

Yes. That’s my favorite combo.

I agree that prints and accent pieces are best reserved for pillows. I am also a fan of tweed for chair and sofa and print pillows.

I do like bold patterns but when reserved for small pieces as accents and keeping everything else very neutral. I would do solid tweed couch and chair and reserve bold pattern for something small like a pair of small ottomans/stools like in this picture or in cushions. https://www.theinside.com/products/x-bench-blue-baldwin-bamboo-by-scalamandre-18188

I’m also wondering if they offer a tweed in warm tones like a cream/oatmeal hues to complement the brown leather and brown woodwork?

I like the leafy print for the chair in option 1. It will soften the oak and the brown of the recliner while staying with a woodsy theme.
I, personally, would pick a soft cream rather than the grey for the sofa. But that is just my personal preference.

You could play around with soft velvet cushions depending on how much color you want to bring into the room. Pick colors that complement the wall color or the rug if there is one in the room.

That’s a really nice chair at a good price in the Overstock link!

I agree with @AnAsmom that soft velvet pillows bring some nice texture and color into a room especially for fall and winter.

Sigh!

Went back to the store and somehow none of the fabrics were available in the furniture I wanted. So back to the drawing board.

The lighter fabric for the chair and the darker for the couch. The printed fabric is only for pillows even though there were plenty of chairs in similar fabrics but I wasn’t given them as an option. :woman_shrugging:

The pillows are not included with a reclining sofa but are for the other sofas. It would be $178 for 2 pillows.

There’s a sale until Labor Day but right now I’m inclined to put this off again. Because making decisions is hard! But thanks to everyone who chimed in, it was very helpful.

We don’t have many furniture stores here so my options are a bit limited if I don’t want to order on line.

Bummer. That leafy print would have been perfect for an accent chair.

But $178 for 2 pillows? Yikes. Are they using gold threads to sew them?

Just gonna say that pillows are incredibly easy to make. Including piped seams and zippered. Ugh. Phone a friend.

I struggle with this kind of decision to.
I suspect it may get more expensive if you wait, but maybe once the supply chain gets sorted out prices will come down.
Fingers crossed!

Goodness, you can surely buy pillow for your entire house for $178!!!

Do you feel like the two plain fabrics compliment each other or do they feel opposite (or I should say is either of those a look you are going for - compliment or opposite??) - can’t tell if the one is a brown or gray.
