Another Laptop Q -- Fujitsu Lifebook?

Fujitsu LifeBook S series to be precise.

Is this a good one to have for college? My cousin is offering his used one to me as a gift (1 year old).

I've never heard of this brand (I'm usually told to go with Dell). I've looked for reviews online and haven't found any.

Can anyone offer feedback? Thanks.

Fujitsu is a little known, yet excellent brand.
I'm not very familiar with them, but check out www.notebookreview.com for reviews. That site also has a discussion forum which might help you more than CC, regarding this laptop.

Good luck :)

See if this review matches your Lifebook...

thanks alot guys...those sites REALLY help! :)

Fujitsu makes laptops?? I though all they made was grocerey store scanners and PBX phone systems!

No, they definately make laptops. They also made the first tablet PC's (years before the whole tablet PC thing caught on.

i'm typing this on my fujitsu lifebook p5020d right now...

it's lasted an entire cross country flight (wash. dulles to san diego) AND right now, no recharging (yea, the brightness is waay down though).

=D

I LOVE MY S-SERIES LIFEBOOK. No really, I hate typing in caps but I'm just that enthusiastic. The shiny screen gets compliments from everyone (and was at least $300 cheaper than clunkier Sony Vaio's with comparable features). The S series is like, portable, but also powerful. There are better laptops out there, but you can't beat this for the price. It's a great college laptop.
