I am going to be 3rd year usc student and just realized that starting soon my loans would be piling up. I'll probably graduate with about 30-50k in loans. My question is do you think the loans are worth it to stick to USC or should I go to a school like rutgers where i can get a full scholarship and finish almost loan free. Any input would be great, thanks

You are thinking about this now, in mid-August? So you would switch to somewhere loan-free next January? How many semesters until you graduate?

if you seriously want to transfer for financial reasons, you're better off going to a public university. i don't know what state you are from, but obviously researching nearby public universities might be to your benefit. there is no guarantee you'll get a full scholarship at rutgers, or anywhere else for that matter, but it doesn't hurt to try. USC has alot of scholarships in specified schools for juniors and seniors--check those out.

considering you have such a short time left, think about if its really worth it to transfer--you probably won't graduate in four years if you transfer, because credits usually don't line up that easily, and loan debt never goes away. you'll be paying it back no matter what.
