Another Lost CCer...

I might apply to Northwestern, Harvard, or Princeton and I will definitely apply to JHU. Out of those colleges, NU and JHU recommend 3 SAT II's while Harvard and Princeton require 3. Also, there's a possibility I will either do Questbridge or ED, both of which require me taking the October SAT date. Now here's the problem...I want to get higher scores on both my SAT and SAT II tests.

Currently my scores are:

2150 SAT Superscored
800 Math II
750 Bio E
650 World (A's in AP World and probably a 3/4 on AP exam)
560 Spanish (Mix of A's and B's in class, but B's this year)

If I take the reasoning test, then I'm sure that I can get 2200+. The result is that my SAT II's won't look as good with a 650 or 560. If I take the SAT II's again, then my 2150 will be in the lower 50 percentile range of the spectrum.

So which one should I go for? By the way, I'll be taking the ACT again in Sept., but it seems impossible for me to increase my score...went from 30.5 to 31 first retake. Of course if I receive a 34+, then this situation wouldn't really matter anymore....but that's unthinkable for me.

Subjects I think

I say subjects as well. Keep in mind that you can still do the Nov test for the rest of your apps (non-ED/questbridge)

I would go for the subject tests.

this is a tough choice! but I would say retake the SATI simply because my guidance counselor told me that SAT II subject tests did not matter nearly as much as the SATI. However, I am not 100% sure that he is correct.

So if I don’t do ED at all and do qualify for questbridge, I should still take the SAT II instead even if it’ll apply to Princeton?

Also, If I do go for SAT II’s, would it be alright to take a science one (which i’ll most likely get 700+ on). I know a combination of math, science, and humanities looks better, but does 2 science and 1 math really look that much worse to colleges?

I would retake the SAT I. A 2150 isn’t horrible, but it isn’t fantastic either — aim for over 2250. You already got an 800 and 750 on some subject tests, so you’ll just have to live with the 650.
