For my classes that matter (math, science, history, english, language) I have a decent GPA, but it's not great for the schools I'm applying to (Duke, Cornell).
Freshman year, my UW GPA was 91.8
Sophomore year, my UW GPA was 93.2
Junior year, my UW GPA was 95.0
So far senior year, my UW GPA is 95.2
All the classes I took were honors or AP, but my freshman year grades especially are pretty pathetic. While of course classes like guitar and health science raise my GPA a bit, I'm barely in the top 25% because only 1 extra point is given for honors or AP classes.

On the other hand, I have a good SAT score of 2330 (780 CR, 750 M, 800 W). Will this counterbalance the fact that my grades are probably a bit below their profile?
