Another math 54 post. but please help.

I've been dying this summer thinking about going to college in the fall. Thinking about it makes me nervous and scared. The biggest reason for being scared is probably due to the "fear of unknown." Im from Northeast, the complete opposite of US, and have never been to cali except for visiting berkeley.

I have no idea what the difficulty would be like at berkeley and just thinking about all the smart people that attend berkeley scares me. And that's why I'm still deciding between Math 54 and Math 16B.

I took BC Calc my senior year and got a 5, 800s on SAT1 and Math II. And I considered myself pretty good with math (which probably won't be true anymore).

But do you think I could get A/A- (preferably A) if I went straight into 54? I'm really committed to studying and like most people, i really really want to do well and GPA is critical since I want to apply to Haas.

Thanks everyone and enjoy the rest of your summer!

oh and I kind of took 1b out of the question because… 99.99% of the people said horrible things about it

To add on to the concerns. I want to be able to double major Econ and Business and was wondering if I took 16B and then 54 later, would I be too far behind to double major? I want to take 54 because I want to take Econ 101 Series

Math 54 requires the 1-calculus series, which by the way is notoriously difficult. In your position I would rather try to go directly to Math 54. In fact unless you are double majoring in math, I don’t see a good reason for you to take the econ 101 series if you are planning to major in business.
