My essays were decent, but they weren't my best.

I don't know what it takes to get in...its my only real "reach school." Everyone in my family has been waitlisted in the past.

I think you have decent chances. I’d say a fairly high match or a low reach. Your ECs are a little on the “average” side. Did you apply EA? Have you shown “demonstrated interest”? You probably should find out what your uw and w GPA is and let us know if you want good feedback.

What did you get on your AP exams, and what kind of school do you go to?
Your SAT scores are on the low side of average, and since you said that you got the highest SAT score in your class and you are #1 in your class, that makes me think that you don’t go to a very competitive school, so your high GPA might not help offset your SAT scores.

While it won’t count against you that your peers didn’t score well, your scores aren’t high enough for early action. ND has an EA SAT minimum of 1440 this year, and since that is your score, you will almost definitely be deferred to regular decision, and, like NDgradNDdad said, whether or not you get in is too hard to tell. It could go either way. If you really want a chance, the only thing you can do is make sure that your essays are absolutely killer.

AsianGinger,
I think you may want to reconsider saying things like ND has a min SAT of 1440 this year and anything under will be rejected/deferred is just silly, no admission rep would ever tell you that since each file is read on a case by case basis and SAT scores are just one part of the application. I really can’t stand when people make these blanket statements like they know what they are talking about.
