So how am I doing so far? What should my next step be?

You can’t really chance people before their junior year in my strong opinion. You might have an amazing junior year and you might have a terrible junior year. You also cannot be chanced without test scores if your highest ACT is a 24 then it’s going to be different than if you get a 34! I would work on your extracurriculars and start stepping into more leadership positions. Do some volunteer work and reevaluate where you want to apply throughout your junior year.
