Another Online Essay Question....

I know that there was already a thread about the importance of essays, but I was just wondering based on my stats, would I need some really strong essays? I want to apply early, but my essays aren't really that strong...

Background:

EC's:

AP Scholar with honor award (Not sure if it really matters..)

I think I got some pretty good recs and my diversity is stressed in my counselor rec.

So back to my question...Based on these stats would I need some strong essays? Should I apply regular instead to refine my essays or should I stick with the supposedly easier ED pool?

If I stick with regular decision...I will have stronger essays, but UVA will see my GPA go down a bit. I'm taking some tough classes and it might go down to a 3.96W GPA worse case scenario.

Any suggestions would be aprreciated.

You have good enough stats for an instate applicant that you don't need essays that will knock them off their feet, but you still need solid essays. If you've got solid essays already, then go ahead and apply early. It can only help.
