so hopefully they'll consider that seeing as how i'm applying for engineering.
my essays are pretty good i think.
so basically. do i have a shot?

agreed, uw GPA is well below UCB avg of 3.93, and you're OOS applying to the best undergrad engineering program in the country...i'd put you at a reach, write some killer essays and good luck!

Hi kcb- I'm an out of stater at Cal and I'm from Texas as well! What part are you from? Anyway, might I suggest applying to a different major than engineering? This is not to say that you are unqualified, but it's extremely difficult for even in-state students to get into the engin. major, so your app would have to blow them away in some regard. Have you thought about applying to the College of Chemistry? Great chemical engineering program.

i'm from austin. i ended up putting mech engineering. i mean.. i don't really expect to get in too much. engineering is all i wanted berkeley for though. and i'm already in at UT austin. so i guess the way i see it is if it's not engineering it's not worth going all the way there from oos for. ya know? i'm applying to some other good schools that i have slightly better chances at, thanks to affirmative action.
anyway.. is it weird being around so many californians?
