i was registering my A&O session and came across, General Interest Advising Session. the last day of that General Interest Advising Session is August 31. i thought UW starts on sept 27? am i wrong? i'm coming from oversea and i don't know if i can stay in my dorm for almost 1 month! does this mean i have to find a place in seattle and wait till school starts? is General Interest Advising Session required? what should i do?

I faced this problem too. But here is how I solved it.
Our classes starts from 27th sept.
You must have received the welcome packet, and if you read it it says that A&O for internationals is on 18th sept during the international welcome week which starts from 14th sept.

Yes, the last date shown on the online registration is 31st august.
So all internationals need to call FYP and they will register you on 18th september.

you can get the phone number of FYP from their website:

hope this helps

thanks alot for the help. i tried calling them but no ones there. i will try later. thanks alot!

yea try calling there a little later...
its only 10.30am in seattle...
they will surely register you..

what days did u guyz choose for a&o registration? mine is julyy 6-7..ne one with the same day?

Yep mine is July 6-7. Did you register for the Health Sciences interest? I have to get there a day early since I am coming from AK

I am an international so the only date available to us is september 18 for A&O.
When does everybody plan to be in Seattle, I mean by which date??

hey laura.. yea im doing the health sciences one too n gettin there early cuz im flying in from NJ.. n i guess i have to take placement exams? fuuun =/....lol

Im also an international... i am concerned though about when the dorms open.. should i find a place to stay.. i saw something about early arrival but i dont really get it... What are other internationals doing? im probobly arriving around the 10th.. should i just find a place to stay until classes start?

im arriving on the 12th.
international welcome week starts from 14th. my advising is on the 18th. The dorms actually open on 20-21 but i talked to the university and they said they can provide temp housing to internationals...
