Another Question Pertaining to Christianity (Sorry)

sorry original sin

burn baby burn !

yeah but still… Jesus said children are pure.

romanigypsyeyes, ignorance is bliss (if you so truly think I’m that ignorant).

Well group me with romani then, because I definitely think you’re ignorant.

^^thank you BeKindRewind! I honestly could care less. I have nothing against any other religion and I don’t think that they have any less of a chance at being saved. I just felt I should clear up some misconceptions and spread around the history of the Church.

Tikiman53: Yes, Revelation does talk about Jesus coming back to judge the believers and the non-believers. There is a debate over the timing of the believers being taken up to heaven. The left behind authors say the only non believers will be left. Post tribulation theory is that the everyone still alive at the time of the second coming will have to suffer through the seven seals until Christ defeats the Anti-Christ. It is an interesting topic, no matter what side you agree with or even if you are not Christian.

Romanigypseyes: Considering that you are still alive, you couldn’t have received all the sacraments. ;-)

Yankee, you’re right. I got 5 out of 7 (6 I am eligible for). I am not male so I can’t join the priesthood. I am 18 so I am not married.

But fyi, I have received last rites and I’m still alive. Whoops!

I apologize romani, as I meant no offense towards you. I just notice that many people who are criticizing Catholicism also know nothing about it. You are not one of those people, but there is still no reason to be bitter towards a religion. It is just a way of life and thought.

the Catholics used to sell entry to heaven, can you justify that

Here I am tokdoc (are you a shrink, by the way, as in talk dr.?). It is AMAZING how so many on this thread have come to conclusions about the Bible by NOT reading EVERY word in it. What is so scary is that ignorance of rules can lead you into getting into big trouble with the law, like “I didn’t know or see the speed limit Mr. Officer”. Then the dude gives you a righteous ticket. God will do the same. He cares enough to give us a manual for living an amazing life on earth and into eternity yet few people read every word of the manual. So many people like to just wing it here on earth. But dudes, we’re talking not just on earth but eternity. In the 3 times that I have read EVERY word in the Bible, Jesus spoke a ton about hell and who will be going there. You and I WILL go to HELL without Jesus ruling our hearts. It has NOTHING to do with purgatory (No form of purgatory or the word is anywhere in the Bible). Ephesians 2:8, 9 says “It is by grace that we are saved, by faith, not by works (doing good things), less any person brag”. Mormons are NOT Christian. They believe that Jesus and Satan are brothers, per Doctrine of Covenants. They believe you MUST work your way into heaven, taking away from our full dependence on Jesus to get us there. Guys, at least read EVERY word in the Bible. You owe it to yourself and God would love to have you read His love letters to you. Jesus is so cool!!!

America used to have slaves…
Mormons used to have 6 wives…
People in the South used to lynch black people…

thats not justifying it

Nobody can justify it, but they don’t have to be “punished” for it either. Should we be punished for slavery because we happen to be the same nationality as slave owners?

You can’t use something that happened centuries ago against Catholics today. It is just plain wrong.

…things change, people change. Why are you judging Catholicism based on something that stopped hundreds of years ago?

I think you are forgetting something that Jesus fellow taught us before he left this Earth.

but the Catholics not only used to be wrong, but they continue to be today

tokdoc-i wrote on post #30, page 2 of this thread

banjoman, I’m just curious, are you Baptist?

no i am not

banjo, it is your OPINION that they are wrong. No religion can be wrong as it is true to the believer. Seriously grow up.

Looking at your other posts, I seriously hope you’re a ■■■■■.

Hey cool, you better judge in life, judge between good and evil, otherwise you better not judge the devil nor people who rape, murder, etc. Satan loves to use and confuse Jesus’ statement “Do not judge”. You would be a fool not to judge. Your very life demands it on a day to day basis. You should also hate (evil).
