roman, if you knew the Bible like Banjo, you would clearly see your ignorance.

Whatever dplane. It is people like you that turn other people off to Christianity. Hope you’re happy.
Hey cool, you better judge in life, judge between good and evil, otherwise you better not judge the devil nor people who rape, murder, etc. Satan loves to use and confuse Jesus’ statement “Do not judge”. You would be a fool not to judge. Your very life demands it on a day to day basis. You should also hate (evil).
Well, yes to an extent I think you need to judge but deep down I think everyone is good and with pure intentions. If everyone lived life like that, we would have a hell of a better world, but obviously people chose to use their free will for bad and its why our world is a moral hellhole today, IMO.

Hey ro, it is not about me being happy. It is about you not wanting to submit to Jesus’ two rules. You are an anarchist who wants to bow to your own rules based on your pride. Good luck wid dat bud. You would say that Jesus Himself would turn off people to Christianity.

No I would not say that. I did nothing but defend Christianity this whole entire thread and yet you attacked me. I respect Jesus and his teachings, and believe all people should live by his principles. I simply don’t worship him as a God.

Oh well, I’m done with this.

ro, and why not worship Jesus? He loves you like no one ever has–the dude died for you. Again, why wouldn’t you want to bless His socks off by worshipping and honoring Him?

Deleted post.

Wow… looks like I stopped posting at the right time.
Your sect of Christianity doesn’t really have a bearing on if you are saved or not.
Also, I don’t what you mean when you say that Catholics are still doing things wrong.
First off, you can’t base current Catholics off of those in the past especially when not everyone even has their history facts right. Secondly, the Catholic Church is based off of traditions directly from Christ. While everyone simply uses the bible, the Catholic Church is fortunate enough to be directly from Christ himself and his teachings so it has traditions based on His own.

Good Day! Just so you know I’m probably not going to respond to anyone about this.

the catholic church is based on pagan ********, thats why they pray to saints, they why the celebrate christmas, thats why they go to church on sunday

Hey romey, let’s not argue. Let’s have fun talkin’ this through…

Lol, all of the Abrahamic religions are rife with pagan influence. Catholicism is hardly alone.

“Idolatry not only refers to false pagan worship. It remains a constant temptation to faith. Idolatry consists in divinizing what is not God… Idolatry rejects the unique Lordship of God; it is therefore incompatible with communion with God.”
~Catechism of the Catholic Church
“The witnesses who have preceded us into the kingdom, especially those whom the Church recognizes as saints, share in the living tradition of prayer by the example of their lives…When they entered into the joy of their Master, they were ‘put in charge of many things’ (Cf. Mt 25:21). Their intercession is their most exalted service to God’s plan. We can and should ask them to intercede for us and for the whole world.”
~Catechism of the Catholic Church

Banjoman, These two passages disprove two of the things you stated and also you are saying just Catholics go to Church on Sunday and celebrate Christmas when mostly all Christians do.

they started it

^^haha, ok then…

The Jewish Sabbath is on Saturday. Christians changed the day to Sunday because it is the day of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead and therefore it is kept holy.
Christmas is a different one. What happened was that many pagans celebrated Saturnalia on this day. The Christians wanted those pagans to become Christians so what they did was allow them to continue to celebrate that day, but it was renamed as Christ’s birthday. It is not really His birthday, but acts more as a symbol of Christ’s birth.

Indulgences still exist.

The Church is probably short on “charitable contributions” due to the economy.

dPlane-Yes, I am a shrink=talkdoc…yep

Sorry, I’m new here, but why is there religious talk on a site for college?

Claud-the original topic was about whether or not you will wait until marriage to have sex or will the college experience include something some of us feel should be reserved for later.

So, naturally, religion enters in here.

Oh, I see. Makes sense. Thanks for clarifyinng tokdoc.
