Hello
Yeah… it’s another senior who’s going to apply to brown…

I just have a question regarding
4th question in brown app’s personal statment section.

“Please tell us, roughly in order of their importance to you and in the space provided, those individual activities and awards which you believe best represent your greatest achievements and interests. Tell us approximately how many hours per week each activitiy entails…”

Ok… Do I have to answer this in “essay” format?

I mean it looks pretty hard to write all those activities and awards down in one single page in “essay” format.

Is it ok to make a “list” of activities…
of course by “list” I do not mean a simple laundry list of names of activities and awards.

Anyway is this the way it’s supposed to be done?
How did you (or are you going to) answer this question?

Thanks 1000 times for your trouble and time.
Thank you!

ps. sorry if my grammar caused you trouble reading this. .
I’m still in process of learning English (ya it has been 4 years… I’m pretty slow)

I encountered the same problem last year too. I just typed out all my ECs, achievements and volunteer work etc stuff in a neat organized, easy to read chart, with details such as hours per week, years involved, brief description and printed it out. and wrote "refer to attached list" on the first line of the space provided.

nobody I know actually wrote it out in essay form, I think that's the least ineffecient way of presenting the "list" of activities. remember to label that list carefully so that they know what you're refering to; and with your name as well, so that it wont be lost. so yup, i think what you have in mind will be fine. good luck! :)

p.s. and your grammar isnt that bad, couldnt tell that you picked it up only 4 years ago

Yea, I did the same thing. I didn't bother even bother writing anything down on that part of the app; I just sent in an attachment of activities and such.
