About the PAE, I am unclear about who exactly needs to administer it? Does it have to be at my school with a gym teacher of my choice? Or do I have to go to a "test site"?

Gym teacher of your choice. My son had his lacrosse coach/gym teacher administer the test. The gym teacher fills out the form and sends it in. Make sure you get a copy of the filled out/signed form before it is mailed to the Academy. It's my understanding that this test can also now be used to satisfy the Army ROTC physical requirement if you go that route - and it's one I'd highly recommend as a back-up to the Academy.

The PAE form will come with the application packet but I think you can also download it off the internet. http://admissions.usma.edu/prospectus/step_pae_home.cfm

Be careful about assuming too much. Check out the Army ROTC website and review their requirements for the physical testing. My son applied to both USMA and for an Army ROTC scholarship last year. When asking the ROTC officer at Ft. Monroe (they administer the national 4-year scholarships) that was assigned to him if the USMA PAE would meet their requirements the answer was, "We are not West Point." The ROTC physical testing is typically conducted by one of the officers at the college/university that your son/daughter has expressed an interest in attending, or a more local ROTC detatchment if travel to the selected school is a burden. The testing is typically conducted on the same day as the interview is given.

Another thing to note...don't get anybody to "fudge" your results...if you pass this test and are eventually admitted, you will be tested again...five Coast Guard "swabs" were tossed out last week when they failed the PTE given at the Academy. So get in shape and stay that way throughout this year and next. Good luck.

aight, thats a good idea, heh
