Is there a particular reason that CommonApp asks about the highest degree that you intend to earn. Does that weigh into the admission descision/Does one answer look better than the rest?

Thank you

Well, it’s not really the commonapp itself. It’s more the Future Plans section which is specific to each school. Whatever answer you put will never affect your application negatively. I assume it’s for schools to keep track of statistics, and just get a better picture of the applicant.

For example, if you have a lot of activities and involvement relating to law and the legal field, it would make sense for the college to know that you are applying as X major, but ultimately plan to attain a J.D.

If that makes any sense

…I was wondering this, too. I just put “Undecided” for every school. Is that bad?
