Another restaurant recommendation needed

My H is going to visit our freshman D October 23-25 on his way to a business trip in New York. Btown is fully booked because it's the weekend of the Hilly 100. I managed to get one of the last hotel rooms, but it prompted me to think I'd better get restaurant reservations too since there will be a lot of hungry bikers in town. D says she misses a good steak most of all. Any recommendations of a restaurant with good steaks in the downtown area? They're looking for a fun, lively environment rather than a quiet, fancy type of place. Thanks!

For steaks most would suggest Janko’s Little Zegrebs. Be forewarned it is not a posh place. Tight tables and it will likely be packed. This is a longtime favorite in Bloomington.

I’ll second Janko’s. Certainly not fancy, but S and H both had steaks and thought they were great.

A third vote for Janko’s. Do warn them though that the service can sometimes be incredibly slow.

Thanks everyone for the Janko’s recommendation. H and D went last night for a juicy steak and it was just what the doctor ordered.

I’m glad they liked it. We were in Bloomington this weekend to visit my son and deliver warm clothes. We had a great dinner at La Charreada, a Mexican restaurant on Walnut. The food was delicious, the decor is nice, and the service was really fast and attentive, even with a full house. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for Mexican food near IUB.
