Another serious topic (this time about Boba)

So I was just browsing the UCI forums and came across the integral subject of boba (tea), the sweet, addicting Asian’ish drinks.

I need to know if there are any tea shops close to UCSD, and if so, I will NEED directions! :stuck_out_tongue: My friend’s uncle has a tea shop in Escondido, but that is way too far away for just a drink.

This is not a joke. If any of you haven’t ever tried it, please do. Now.

Take the 34 bus - it takes you in front of tapioca express. Also, there's a new thai restraunt opening up on campus; its branches in LA have boba, so im expecting the on campus branch to as well.

Sounds awesome. Thanks for the help.

What LA branches are there? The Boat? Banana Bay? Those seem to be the two largest Thai places I know in the greater Asian/Los Angeles area.

'Hi Thai' - at least googling it, I get some mention of Boba.

"Hi Thai Noodle is a great place to stop before a movie or show in Hollywood. Super-clean shiny new booths, **cheap boba drinks, lots of stir-fried noodles and soups, and an amazing fruity green chili sort of Thai salsa thing that electrifies any dish. Cheap, too."

<333333

The thing I liked the most about that quote was the word "cheap."
And I'm so glad there's gonna be Thai food around. GOOD stuff. :D

Heck yeah. There's also a PF Changs close around. Now, I need to find some place for Sushi or Pho :{

If they don't have good sushi around our campus...I'll be very...very sad...

There's a Ginza Sushi in Price Center.

Karth, is it any good? I might make it my staple food outside of dining halls.

I have no idea, I'm a vegetarian ;). It's pretty crowded, though, so if that's any indication...

That's awesome. I had a vegetarian phase. It was easy because I already eat a lot of tofu. I quit because I missed flavor, in general.

i prefer jamba juiceeee! is there a jamba juice INSIDE ucsd? or only a starbucks?

Oyama, indian food can be vegetarian and has too much flavor for many people. Same goes for thai ;).

pham, there's a jamba juice in price center, below ginza sushi. they take meal points.

there is also a sushi place about 3 miles from campus by trader joes? i went that the night before admit day. their prestation is superb! one of the chefs had a flame torch! ...and most importantly...it's pretty cheap.

The price center takes meal points, too? I'm going to be at Del Taco and Jamba Juice a lot, too, then ;_;

@ vii: oh MAN...that definitely sounds like my kinda place. :]

No, I don't think the price center takes meal points. Is this true?

^^ we should eat out at all the cool/exotic sd places. i like japanese, thai, persian, etc..

Dang. Persian! I know some Farce so I can speak to waiters and stuff (assuming they're actually Persian)
