Another stupid FAFSA question :)

<p>Please bear with me as this is my first time doing the FAFSA.
My husband and I are separated (divorce is in process). My son lives primarily with my husband, so his is the financial information being used.</p>

<p>However, there is a question asking for the SSN, etc. of the "mother or stepmother". If we are separated, should my information be shown there, or is that only for a spouse that is residing with my (soon to be former) husband?</p>

<p>On the FAFSA, the only information is for the folks living with the student…so it would be the spouse of the custodial parent…and that could be a mother/stepmother or a father/stepfather. NOT the non-custodial parent.</p>
