Another SUNY Hopeful

Currently a Junior-hoping to get into these schools in order of importance. Plan on majoring in Pre-Veterinary with a minor in Business. Do I have a shot?

Have only taken PSAT with 580 math and 600 Critical Reading. Will take Sat in March, May
Unweighted GPA is 3.8
4 AP cources-no tests yet, high honor roll all 3 yrs.
4 extracurricular clubs, and 2 volunteer jobs,(local animal shelter and Equine Rescue Farm)

Geneseo

Binghamton

Oswego

Oneonta? Not to sure on what my 4th should be yet.

Unless the test scores come up substantially, you likely do not have a shot at either Genesco or Binghamton. Definitely in good shape for Oswego and Oneonta. In this economy, admissions at the first two are very tough.

Agree with Zoosermom. Best of luck!

Geneseo and Binghamton are slight reaches, but then again, someone from my school got in with sub 600 on all 3 sections

Are you an unrepresented racial minority? Where do you live? What is your income bracket? None of the SUNY schools are that selective. I'd say:
1) In
2) WL / OUT
3) In
4) In

I am white, family income is over $100,000 so I won't be getting any need based aid. I am going to try to up my test scores so maybe I have a changce at Geneseo, or Binghamton. Thanks for all your comments and best wishes!

Take the ACT as well. My daughter had the same gpa and sat scores but got a 29 on the ACT. This gave her merit $ and seems like she's getting in to Binghamton they just wanted her to audition for the theater program and they don't ask that unless they are highly interested.

What about New Paltz?

geneseo is a reach
bing is a reach

the rest are pretty good matches.
